As a full-time team member at Purpose in Play, you're expected to work a 40-hour workweek, and in general, that time is evenly spread across a 5-day work week, Monday through Friday. Of course, schedules will vary from person to person, but these are the general expectations to enable a collaborative team to work together effectively and equitably.
The concept of work isn't always caught in time (40 hours) and place because time is such a limited variable to grasp the concept of work. There is a balance to strike here, and just looking at hours or a holiday quota limits this discussion. That is why we don't keep track of holidays. While the typical workday might run from 8 AM to 5 PM, you can set your own hours as long as enough time is spent online with your team and other people you're currently working with. Generally, it's considered a good practice to have at least a 4-5 hour overlap with your team and to make yourself available for the regular meetings.
You may need to time-shift for your caring responsibilities or enjoy an activity at a certain time of the day. This is supported and is exactly what our flexibility is here to enable. Given that we have flex time, you are expected to make up for this time. We won't track it, but you should. We trust you to make the best of your days for Purpose in Play.

That limits full flexibility, but it doesn't mean you can't find a balance between these needs, and your needs and preferences. Speak to your team and coordinate together.

This doesn't mean we want you to work more or fewer hours, but our focus is on driving outcomes vs. time spent online. This enables us to set the proper schedule for our preferences and life demands. It's important that we're well-rested. We work hard, and we want to enable you to find balance and enjoy everything you like to do when not working. You should take off at least ~25 days each year. Read more about how this works Vacation, Time off & Sick Days.
We're not a fully asynchronous company. We optimize for being online together, and this real-time communication and collaboration is a core part of how we work. However, our choice of tools and our expectations of each other is led by many asynchronous principles.
