Creating Meeting Notes
When creating Meeting Notes, please use one of the templates and follow the naming convention of: "Meeting name" + "@date" (MM/DD/YY format). You can use shortcuts for dates like @today, @tomorrow or @yesterday. Otherwise use the date convention above.

Meetings have a bad reputation, but if we do them right, it can be some of the most productive time we spend together 💪
- Always set an agenda and take notes. It's important that others know in advance why they have been asked to attend a meeting, what the agenda is, and what has been discussed and decided at the meeting via notes and actions circulated afterwards.
- Optimise for output**.** Don't plan a meeting if it doesn't have a clear expected output. If you set up a 1-hour meeting for 4 people, the cost of the meeting is 4-hours, not 1, so make sure you know what you want to get out of the meeting and why it's important that everyone invited is there.
- We listen and welcome everyone to contribute. We don't want our meetings to be dominated by the loudest voices. An agenda enables a more inclusive meeting — attendees can contribute to the agenda and prep in advance.
- Build trust and efficiency through transparency by putting information in a public place that is accessible to everyone as much as possible.
- Communication is a skill that we all continue to refine with practice--don't worry about whether you're doing it right or well, just feel free to share.
- Use discretion when it comes to transparency, taking care not to share information if it could potentially cause harm to individuals, i.e. sensitive personal information.
- A meeting can have multiple activities if there is overlap with attendees
- Always ask your self: What do I need this meeting to accomplish? And use this to set objectives for the meeting
Invite the right people
- Determine who needs to attend to accomplish the purpose and objectives of the meeting.
- Invite only those whose participation is needed and or required.
- Roles for a meeting might include:
- Meeting / agenda leader
- Subject matter expert (SMEs)
- Decision maker
- Information / knowledge contribution
